Botinicals: a quirky reference to the use of tin in the construction of handmade metal floral arrangements

The photos in this gallery represent just a few of the flowers I make. Special orders are welcome; I enjoy creating new pieces.

The flowers I make are all hand cut and shaped using tin snips and assorted pliers. They're soldered together, then primed. The first layer of paint is acrylic: this is the green of the leaves and stems. The remaining colors are done in artist oils. I mix all my own paint as this allows me to get close to the real colors of the different blooms.

Ikebana: a form of Japanese flower arranging. I find it is quite pleasing to the eye. I have just started implementing this style in my work. It was introduced at the trade Show in Halifax in 2002.
